Foundation Review: REVLON PhotoReady

Foundation Review: REVLON PhotoReady
007 Cool Beige
SPF 20/FPS 2030 ml
The Foundation

Handy Pump!
When I first got this foundation I didn't really like it. It was really shimmery, too thick and made my eye’s water/sting. I know that’s a bad start to a review. Soon after I realised I hated this foundation I figured out I was applying it wrong. I put on a crazy amount of foundation. When it comes to Revlon’s PhotoReady there’s one thing to remember, 'a little dab'll do’ya!'. I personally don't recommend using your hands like I did. It got into my eyes and caked and dried out my skin. Use a sponge or a brush. This foundation claims to give you ‘perfected airbrushed skin in any light’ and ‘complete coverage’. It also claims to be ‘oil-free’ and ‘fragrance free’. I agree with the airbrushed skin, complete coverage and fragrance free part. However I don't agree with the ‘oil free’ bit. I have extremely dry skin; in fact I have eczema so I was a bit worried about this oil free claim. Let’s put it this way, there was no need to worry. This foundation made it look like I had oil dripping off my face in the heat. I’d never seen anything like it. I then found a solution to this. I reapplied my powder during the day.

YOU HAVE TO REMEMBER EVERYONE IS DIFFERENT!

Swatch
Just because this happened to me, it doesn't mean it is definitely going to happen to you. The next thing I want to talk about is the shimmer. It’s noticeable and there is a lot of it! If you are planning to wear a powder on top of the foundation then you will have perfect airbrushed skin along with a dewy finish but if you don't want to wear a powder over this foundation you will look like someone threw a bowl of glitter at you. This foundation also has a pump- which is so handy! This is not a foundation I would wear to school as I find it makes you look ‘made up’. I would recommend this foundation for going out and weekends. It is also costly. Not the type of money you want to spend for school. When I got it from Boots I spent £12.00 on it. I’m not too sure about the price now but it is still similar. All in all I recommend this foundation if you try it in store. Don't make a hasty decision. Try it and maybe sleep on it before purchase. You may find that after 30 minutes of wearing it, it makes you look oily or dry or it’s not your colour.

Tips:
  •         Apply a little at first- This foundation cakes up very easily. (Not a good look!)
  •          Use a brush or sponge- This makes application easier and look better. (I recommend a stippling brush or a foundation brush).
  •         Try to avoid eye area- It made my eyes go red and water continues for 30 minutes after application! (IT HURT!)

Now all you need to do is decide whether to buy it or not! :)

Swatch without any powder on top.
Hopefully you can see the amount of shimmer!

Hugs and kisses, Amisha
